James Robert Neihart was senior captain of the Alliance merchant-warship Finity's End. He played a major role in the start of the Company War, demanding the sovereignty of merchant ships. At the end of the War, he led Finity's End to accompany Signy Mallory's Norway to Sol in pursuit of Mazian's fleet. After the War, Neihart led Finity's End in its hunt for the Mazianni, supporting Norway. Circa 2270, this culminated in an agreement with several starstations and the merchant starships to block the black market trade and assert Alliance rights against Union
